Phoenix Challenge Foundation to be Featured at PLGA Global Operational Conference

Charlotte, North Carolina (06 December 2011) - The Phoenix Challenge Foundation (PCF), a prominent organization which promotes on-going education in flexography and graphic arts, is broadening its presence to promote tomorrow's needs in the workforce.  Bettylyn Krafft, Executive Director of the PCF, will be a featured speaker and panel expert at the upcoming PLGA Global Operational Conference to be held February 29 - March 1 in Miami, Florida.

Session I at this year's event, Facing Today's and Tomorrow's Workforce Issues on the Factory Floor, is a priority discussion bringing together the flexo and gravure industries for the first time.  Krafft's 15 year history in developing and promoting flexo in education as a career plan will bring a wealth of experience to the conference, discussing the past successes and future opportunities.  Krafft will present how this integration has been successful at 26 different vocational and high schools, and how it has also expanded on to college campuses throughout North America.  Her devotion to the Phoenix Challenge Foundation and developing young people has helped link educational opportunities to the factory floor.

About The Phoenix Challenge Foundation
Celebrating its 15th Anniversary, the Phoenix Challenge Foundation is an all-volunteer not-for-profit organization of industry professionals dedicated to the recruitment and development of the future workforce for flexography.  The organization has devoted itself to promoting and encouraging today's youth in exploring careers in graphics arts through flexo and graphic production competitions.  Each year flexo students and teachers from throughout the U.S. and Canada are invited to participate in one of two Phoenix Challenge Competitions - the High School Competition and the College Competition.  More than $30,000 of educational scholarships have been awarded to winning students since 1998, made possible through generous donations from industry luminaries and suppliers.
