Introduction of a New Gravure Printing Machine Concept from H.C. Moog GmbH

January 2010 — H.C. Moog GmbH is introducing a new design of a sheet-fed Gravure Press : Type 1-TBR compact 740/1040. This multifaceted “all-in-one“ machine is suitable for short versions providing excellent economics for a broad range of applications:

  • Conventional Gravure with Cylinders and NEW digital Printing Plates
  • Cover Printing  (especially Gold, Silver and Pearlescent Pigments) Continuous Tone Print
  • Full-Coverage Lacquers, Spot Lacquer
  • Refinement
  • Full and partial Embossing, Micro-Embossing and random Grain Patterns, NEW Impression cylinder for more stability
  • Full and partial Coating Applications
  • NEW Calendaring cylinder with Temperature regulation up to 150 C for water based Varnish for “Green Printing”
  • Print for Striking Surface, Surface Structure and haptic effects
  • NEW Dryers with combined Infrared and Hot Air for higher efficiency
  • Utilization of alcohol and water-based Ink Systems as well as UV lacquers
  • Sheet size of up to 29.1 by 40.9 inches

The Type 1-TBR is capable of printing on paper and carton (coated, uncoated, laminated etc) from 80 to 400 g/m² or from 120 to 600 g/m² as well as non-flexible foils and numerous other substrates (information available per request) using conventional gravure cylinders and plate cylinders.

Based on this extensive range of features, the 1-TBR is suitable as a standalone production unit since multiple passes are possible, or the unit can be combined as an offline combination up or downstream with another sheet-fed printing process.

The optimum combination of quality, multiple applications, and excellent economics favor the use of gravure sheet-fed in the development and production of creative and exclusive packaging concepts. It provides the user with the opportunity to not only explore new ideas for existing customers, but to win over new clients that insist on the exceptional that can express their identity.

Demonstrations and test production are available in our construction facility in Miehlen in the Taunus Region of Germany based on a jointly agreed program. We look forward to your inquiries for schedule and scope.
