DAYTON OHIO July 28, 2010 — Daetwyler R&D announces the latest Collage Layout System software
update, which features support for HelioDisk v5. Now, shops with Gravostar and Hell engravers, or only Hell
engravers, can use Collage in their workflow for any engraver, including automated K500’s. Collage’s ability
to drive K500 or K50 engravers requires Collage version 3.1.19 and the optional Helio output license.
Whether starting from a full-up TIFF or one-up PDF images, the Collage operator sets up common values
then defines the settings unique to a device. For example, setting up the test cut size and location, sharpness
values, or amplifier files is quickly done using the efficient interface. Collage creates the images for
engraving, as well as the fast advance (fast crossfeed) file and job ticket.
With only a single software system to learn and use for job setup, productivity increases. Set the job up once,
and send it to any available engraver. And only Collage allows a job to be split: engrave some cylinders on a
Gravostar engraver and some on the Hell engraver, with near perfect matching (requires special Gravostar
configuration).
A unified workflow for gravure packaging from the Collage Layout System provides flexibility and increased
productivity.
