ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 3—KODAK Proofing Software, the industry’s only solution that allows customers the flexibility to proof from both halftone and inkjet systems, now comes in three editions to provide professionals in enterprise, marketing, publishing, commercial printing, and packaging the right tools they need to achieve predictable, color-accurate proofs. KODAK Proofing Software 5.0, bundled with the KODAK MATCHPRINT Inkjet Proofing System, is available in Basic, Commercial, and Packaging Editions to bring specialized proofing tools to each market segment. KODAK Proofing Software 5.0, Packaging Edition is available with the KODAK APPROVAL NX Digital Color Imaging System to make the packaging industry’s workhorse proofing solution more productive than ever.

The Basic Edition offers an out-of-the-box proofing product to small commercial print shops, quick printers, in-plant operations and corporate design environments. KODAK Proofing Software 5.0 allows customers with minimal technical knowledge to produce accurate proofs right away, with minimal setup time. The software works with many inkjet printers on the market today, making KODAK Proofing Software 5.0 a flexible solution that can become part of almost any printing environment.
The Commercial Edition, created for graphic communication agencies, commercial trade and print shops, and larger in-plant printing operations, provides a complete out-of-the box solution, ready to produce high-quality color standards-based contract proofs. When used with KODAK MATCHPRINT Inkjet Media, which features a unique untinted base, printers achieve a better simulation of actual press performance within accepted industry standards.
Packaging convertors, packaging trade shops and high-end printers will find KODAK Proofing Software 5.0’s Packaging Edition especially versatile, as it supports both the MATCHPRINT Inkjet System and the KODAK APPROVAL NX Digital Color Imaging System. The ability to use one proofing workflow for both halftone and inkjet proofing will reduce errors and speed time to delivery for packaging customers. Each system offers important benefits to the packaging marketplace: the KODAK MATCHPRINT Inkjet System includes new color tools and flexo features, supporting the demanding requirements of the market. KODAK APPROVAL System provides packaging printers an accurate advance look at press results and the ability to fix problems early in the process, reducing the waste of plate, ink, substrate and valuable press-time.
All three editions of KODAK Proofing Software are part of the MATCHPRINT Inkjet System that saves time and achieves color and RIP integrity by connecting proofing seamlessly to KODAK PRINERGY Workflow Systems. The MATCHPRINT Inkjet System includes KODAK Proofing Software 5.0, KODAK COLORFLOW Software configured for KODAK Proofing Software, workstation, KODAK PRINERGY Workflow or open workflow connectivity, MATCHPRINT Inkjet Media, and one of the latest drop-on-demand inkjet printers.
