The new K6 systems are en route to Brazil
June 2010 — Editora Abril operates South America‘s largest publication gravure print shop in São Paulo / Brazil. As part of an investment program for modernizing the facilities and boosting efficiency, Editora Abril is equipping this site to take on the challenges of the future. Having invested in a new Cerutti gravure
printing press, the company is now seeking to modernize its cylinder manufacture.
In principle, any investment in new engraving technology needs to meet the following criteria:
• Increased process speed
• Improved engraving quality / stability
• Lower production costs for each cylinder
After conducting intensive research and tests, Editora
Abril – like many other print shops – found that all of these key criteria can be reliably met by investing in the latest K6 echnology.
As a result, Editora Abril has placed an initial order for two K6 HelioKlischograph systems, which are currently en route to São Paulo.
Both of these K6 systems are to be used primarily
to expand capacities, since six of the present DTG machines will continue to operate for the time being.
Form data is to be created using the cutting-edge HELL prepress system comprising Form-Manager, FormProof and HelioLinkPro / HQH. This system has already been installed and the workforce trained in its use. There are also plans to link the system with the remaining DTG Helio systems in order that both generations can be supplied with engraving data reliably
